Why Spay or Neuter Your Pet?
Spaying and neutering is one of the most important decisions you can make for your pet’s health and for the welfare of animals in our community.
Benefits include:
❤️ Helps prevent unwanted litters
❤️ Reduces pet overpopulation
❤️ Lowers the risk of certain cancers and reproductive diseases
❤️ Can reduce roaming and escape behaviors
❤️ May decrease urine marking and spraying
❤️ Can lessen hormone-driven behaviors
❤️ Helps many pets live longer, healthier lives
Every year, thousands of healthy dogs and cats enter shelters simply because there are not enough homes available. Preventing unwanted litters helps reduce suffering while giving existing pets a better chance at finding loving families.
This is the heart of our mission.
Any spay or neuter surgery appointment made after January 2, 2023, will now include the e-collar.
Tattoo: Animals who have had a sterilization surgery receive a small tattoo. This small green tattoo is placed near the incision site after a spay or neuter to provide a permanent, universal indicator that the pet has already been sterilized. This protects pets throughout their lifetime by preventing unnecessary surgery. No complications from the tattoo are expected, as sterile instruments are used to create it. However, please monitor both the tattoo site and the incision for redness, swelling, or discharge. If these occur, please contact the clinic or call our after-hours line.
